Established in 1854 Greytown was New Zealand's first inland settlement, it is now a "modern village" with a selection of fine restaurants and interesting shops.

With diverse activities the Wairarapa entertains year round.


Vineyards
An established Wine district provides many vineyards to tour and the annual Toast Martinborough Festival is host to bands and a carnival style atmosphere.

With trout in the rivers there is also a strong local fly-fishing scene.
